The Simple Seat story

As an avid hunter and outdoorsmen, I spend many hours in the woods in search of my very elusive quarry. Over many years of hunting, I realized that I most often encountered wildlife when I was able to be mobile. I didn't have my own large tract of land to set multiple tree stands and wait. As a result, I found myself having to hunt public lands where setting up a tree stand was both time consuming and a whole lot of work. I quickly realized that I needed to be mobile, and in doing so, found many more deer to pursue. Not everyone has access to their own private hunting grounds and many of us find ourselves competing for space in public areas making mobility key to success.

Getting more advanced in years, I found that I just couldn't stand in one spot for extended periods, the back just can't do it and the prospect of sitting on the cold damp ground is unappealing at this point. I needed to sit on something comfortable. So, I strapped a folding camp chair onto my pack with loud clicks, zips and clangs and headed out into the woods. It seemed like the best solution...until I tried to find a spot to set up. Invariably, the best spot to stay concealed is up against a tree. But the root system always caused my chair to tilt awkwardly or tweak in a manner that wasn't very comfortable, not to mention the noises from unpacking and unfolding the crinkly chair surely scared all the critters within earshot. On a quiet day in the woods, it's amazing how loud it was. There had to be another way. After researching hunting seat options, it was apparent that there was nothing that was going to satisfy my needs, they were either bulky, noisy, still required strapping onto your pack with each move or too expensive.

I decided I would have to make my own. The Simple Seat was born. A seat that can stay attached to your day pack while you sit, has no moving parts and can be set up quickly and quietly...and did I mention comfort? This is by far the most comfortable seat I have used while in the woods.

Thank you for your interest, now go out and enjoy the outdoors!
